Four-quarter apple cakeis a very easy cake to make: the quantities of the main ingredients – eggs, flour, sugar and butter– are equal and represent the four quarters of the cake. A real treat for the palate, characterised by a truly remarkable ease of execution. Prepare yourself because, as soon as you bake it, it will be snapped up… my word 😉
Ingredients
- 200 gr flour
- 50 g potato starch
- 250 gr butter
- 250 g caster sugar
- 4 eggs (250 gr)
- Half a sachet of yeast
- A pinch of salt
- 4 Golden apples
Procedure
To make the four-quarter cake, all you need is a large bowl and a wooden spoon. Start by mixing the very soft butter (not cold from the fridge) with the sugar until creamy. Add the eggs gradually, one at a time, until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps. Stir. Now add flour, starch, baking powder and salt, well sifted, while continuing to stir with a wooden spoon. The consistency of the resulting dough will be wonderful! At this point, we add the fruit we like best, I opted for 🍏, but peaches, apricots, plums… are also fine. And now we bake in a preheated static oven 🔥 at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes. The toothpick test is essential before taking the cake out of the oven. Enjoy your meal 😋
Note
The four-quarter cake is also excellent ‘plain’, just like the classic ‘margherita’; as an alternative to apples, however, you can use any seasonal fruit you like. Make way for the imagination 😉
